ABSTRACT
The article talks about precision guided munitions which allow large volumes of fire at targets, faster response time and less collateral damage. It traces their development from the Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) to the reinforced guided rocket system (GMLRS), the precision fire system range used in Afghanistan and Iraq. It says further that the U.S. is now working on GMLRS+ to give it dial-a-yield warhead, even more extended range and ability to simultaneously fire rockets from the same launcher.
