ABSTRACT
The article presents information about library and information science projects supported by the European Union. A description is given of the European digital library Europeana, including comments on its multilingual features and potential future projects. Note is also taken of the electronic books service eBooks on Demand (eoD), which is planned for extension to German academic libraries between 2009 and 2013.
