ABSTRACT
The article offers information on top 100 retail companies that are ranked by the journal. Wal-Mart Stores Inc., that is first on the journal's list, has 3,656 stores and had sales of 8.45 billion dollars in 2008. Target Corp. had sales of 3.80 billion dollars in 2008 and opened 85 general merchandise stores in 2008 and Dick's Sporting Goods Inc. has 384 stores.
