ABSTRACT
The article offers information related to the Outdoor Industry Association (OIA) in the U.S., that will be celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2009. OIA began in late 1980s by companies an individuals related to the outdoor industry, that now has more than 4,000 members, and the trade association was incorporated in 1989 as the Outdoor Recreation Coalition of America. It states that the OIA aims to educate the government regarding the importance of the outdoor industry.
