ABSTRACT
The article presents a reprint of the patent from October 1952 that was issued by the U.S. Patent Office to inventor Lin Yutang for his Chinese typewriter. Also included is a mechanical drawing of a part of a Chinese character typewriter that Lin Yutang designed. In the patent, the difficulty of creating such a device is described.
