The article informs that Continental Tire North America Inc. has purchased a majority stake in Compania Ecuatoriana del Caucho SA (Erco) to improve its position in Latin America. According to Matthias Schoenberg, chief executive officer (CEO) of Conti's Americas tire businesses, it is planning to use Erco as a base to expand its presence throughout the Andean region.
