ABSTRACT
The article provides information on the onset of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) in children which is either insidious or fulminating. It states that specific signs in children with IBD include poor growth, delayed sexual maturation, and intraintestinal signs like back pain, arthralgia, and autoimmune chronic hepatitis. It adds that the dominant symptom of bloody diarrhea necessitates further clinical testing such as stool examination, blood tests, and radiological investigations.
