N,N-Dimethyl chitosan was prepared by Eschweiler Clarke reaction. The quaternization of N,N-dimethyl chitosan by methyl iodide afforded water-soluble quaternized chitosan: N, N, N-trimethyl chitosan iodide (TMCI). TMCI with three different degrees of quaternization (DQ) were prepared and their...

Laser induced fluorescence spectra of the ArOH bands associated with electronic excitation of the OH A–X(v’=0-v‘=0) transition were reported previously. An extensive search in the vicinity of the OH/OD A (2 Σ+ )-X(2 Π) system (v’=0-v‘=0 and...

The time-dependent relaxation of zero-order O–H vibrational overtone states of nonrotating HO2 on the X 2A‘ double many-body expansion (DMBE)-I potential surface is examined. The time dependence of these states is obtained by expanding them in a large basis of all the bound...

Abstract  The variation in reaction dynamics of OH hydrogen abstraction from glycine between HF, MP2, CCSD(T), M05-2X, BHandHLYP, and B3LYP levels was demonstrated. The abstraction mode shows distinct patterns between these five levels and determines the barrier height, and the spin...

Picryl alkyl ethers react with hydroxide and methoxide ions to give regioisomeric Meisenheimer (anionic σ-) adducts; the C-3 adduct is kinetically favoured and the C-1 adduct is thermodynamically favoured (K3T1 behaviour).
