The CP violation asymmetry parameters in [cap_xi] → πΛ nonleptonic decays are presently being measured by the HyperCP experiment. In the study of these CP violation parameters, the strong S and P phase shifts for the πΛ final-state interactions are needed. In this work,...

Experimental data on neutron-proton scattering in the energy range between 0 and 150 keV are analyzed by using various sets of effective-range parameters. It is shown that, in contrast to the parameters corresponding to the phase shifts of a Nijmegen group, the parameters corresponding to the...

The classical electromagnetic lag associated with the Aharonov-Bohm phase shift can be obtained by using a Darwin-Lagrangian analysis similar to that given by Coleman and Van Vleck to identify the puzzling forces of the Shockley-James paradox. The classical forces cause changes in particle...

In most investigations the Roper resonance is sensed only very indirectly via complex partial-wave analyses. We find indications for its excitation in the invariant nπ+ mass spectrum of the pp → npπ+ reaction at M ≈ 1360 MeV with a width of ≈ 150 MeV . The values fit...

We study nucleon-nucleon scattering on the lattice at next-to-leading order in chiral effective field theory.
