In this study, the effect on the joining of welding power on the laser welding of steels AISI 430 ferritic stainless steel and AISI 1010 low-carbon steel was investigated. Laser welding experiments, were carried out in argon and helium atmosphere, 2000-2250-2500 W welding powers and 100 cm/min. constant welding speed. The microstructures of the joints were examined by optical microscopy and SEM-EDS analysis. The strength of the joints tested with tensile tests. The result of investigations, tests and measurements have been indicated that the quality of the coalescence at interfaces at elevated welding power. In constant welding speed, the best properties point of view metallurgy at specimen bonded at 2500 W power were observed.
