ABSTRACT
The article reports on the decline production of crude steel by 21 percent in May 2009. It mentions that the World Steel Association (WSA) tallied 95.6 million metric tons in May where China gathered 46.5 million tons, Japan got 6.5 million tons and South Korea produced only 4.2 million tons of crude steel. Moreover, it highlights that China produced 217.2 million tons of crude steel for the first five months of 2009.
