ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the new process called Eco Pickled Surface (EPS) developed by The Material Works Ltd. (TMW) in Red Bud, Illinois. It mentions that TMW president Kevin Voges' effort was successful as a replacement for hot-rolled black steel but fell short of his ultimate goal of finding a substitute for conventional pickling and oiling. Moreover, it notes that EPS is rust inhibitive and leaves behind trace amounts of silicon chromium, magnesium and aluminum.
