ABSTRACT
The author seeks to evaluate the performance of the administration of former U.S. President George W. Bush in opposing preferential treatment based on race, ethnicity and sex also called affirmative action. He discusses the use of racial preferences in areas of voting, government contracting, education and employment. He notes that the administration did not make any significant action with regard to a program that sets aside a certain portion of Department of Defense contracts for minority-owned businesses.
