ABSTRACT
The article reports on a study conducted by the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) on the federal government's role in addressing the barriers to mental health services for children in Greater New Orleans, Louisiana who had been affected by Hurricane Katrina. An interview and a written data collection instrument were used by the agency. They also reviewed documents and interviewed federal, local and state officials to learn how the barriers were addressed.
