ABSTRACT
This article presents updates related to politicians in the U.S. in 2009. Republican Representative Mark Kirk of Illinois has decided to launch a bid for the Senate seat that will be vacated by appointed Democratic Senator Ronald Burris. Republican nominee for Virginia governor Bob McDonnell has secured the support of Sheila Crump Johnson, one of the largest donors of incumbent Tim Kaine. Mayor Chris Doherty of Scranton plans to run for governor of Pennsylvania in 2010.
