ABSTRACT
Presents a method to determine the critical current density from remanent magnetization measurements for type II superconductors. Independence of critical current density on magnetic field; Application of the method to Bi[sub 2]Sr[sub 2]CaCu[sub 2]O[sub y] crystals; Correlation between magnetization width and magnetic field branches.
