The article discusses the bubonic and pneumonic plague outbreaks in the Arua and Nebbi districts of Uganda, Africa reported in November 2006. The Uganda Ministry of Health and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) studied these cases, and both have entered into a cooperative agreement with the Uganda Viral Research Institute to develop programs for outbreak prevention and response. A chart and a table listing the number of cases and a geographical location are also presented.
