ABSTRACT
The article focuses on digital voice radio and seeks to address the issue regarding the proper metric for analyzing its network performance during system-acceptance test (SAT). An overview of Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (APCO) Project 25 is presented which is the standard for digital radio communications in the U.S. The author also offers information on various topics such as direct measurements of voice quality, automated speech recognition and background audio noise.
