ABSTRACT
In this work, a yarn-level computational model is used to predict the stress around flaws of varying shapes and sizes in sheets of structural fabric. The stress concentration is shown to depend solely on the size of the flaw along each of the primary yarn directions. Furthermore, the stresses in the fabric are seen to be very sensitive to the boundary conditions applied to the sheet.
