ABSTRACT
The article reports on the categorical imperatives that suggest why Jews should consider vegetarianism. It is noted that becoming vegetarian sets a course of righteousness and people who are righteous guard the lives of animals. Jewish emphasized health and the protection of life and Judaism taught Bal Tashchit which is the concern for the environment.
