ABSTRACT
Discusses methods for rapid data reduction in fetal magnetocardiography (fMCG). Generation of electrical currents by excitable tissues within the fetal heart that yield measurable external magnetic fields; Reduction of sensitivity to relatively distant sources by the use of magnetic gradiometers; Removal of contaminants by proper signal conditioning; Use of 'black box' algorithms.
