A technique for the measurement of the frequency-dependent complex dielectric constant ∈ = ∈' - j∈' of liquids applicable to frequencies up to at least 20 GHz is described. The technique utilizes a coaxial probe dipped into the liquid. The reflection coefficient of the probe was...

We apply principles of statistical mechanics to derive simple expressions relating the hydrogen bond thermodynamic properties to the static dielectric constant of aqueous solutions. The approach followed by us was to develop an expression for the dipolar correlations between a centrally fixed...

Critical instability conditions are found for a gas bubble in a liquid dielectric in a uniform external electrostatic field E[sub 0]. It is shown that they depend both on the magnitude of E[sub 0] and on the properties of the liquid, as well as on the gas pressure in the bubble. In a linear...

The dielectric spectra of mixtures of the polar solute isoamyl bromide in 2-methylpentane have been investigated in the frequency range 1 mHz to 1 MHz and in the temperature range approaching the glass transition temperature.
