Examines the fabrication of grain-aligned YBa[sub 2]Cu[sub 3]O[sub 7-x] thin films by vacuum filtration in an applied magnetic field. Use of directional solidification in melt texturing; Presence of platinum during melt texturing; Influence of platinum on the film densification and melting behavior.
