ABSTRACT
Examines the increase of dendritic cells in psoriatic lesions and a colocalization with HLA-DR. Discovery of positive epidermal cells of HLA-DR and somatostatin; Concentration of the cells in the basal and parabasal cell layers; Presence of somatostatin receptors on the T-lymphocytes and monocytes.

Summary Fumaric acid esters have proved to be effective for the systemic treatment of severe psoriasis vulgaris. These compounds have been shown to induce a Th2-like cytokine secretion pattern in T cells and to reduce keratinocyte proliferation in vitro. Dendritic cells seem to be of major...

The article discusses a study on the association of the dermal clusters of mature dendritic cells and T cells with the CCL20/CCR6 chemokine system in chronic psoriasis. The study assesses whether the CCL20/CCR6 pair is also related to the characteristic cellular aggregates present in chronic...

Psoriasis is characterized by hyperplasia of the epidermis and infiltration of leukocytes into both the dermis and epidermis. IL-23, a key cytokine that induces TH17 cells, has been found to play a critical role in the pathogenesis of psoriasis. Apilimod is a small-molecule compound that...
