ABSTRACT
The article discusses the impact of short-term changes in the tax regime in Great Britain. Shadow Chancellor George Osborne relates that the changes have damaged public confidence in financial and saving planning. He suggests that the Conservatives should set up a Government-funded panel of tax experts, simplify the tax regime, and increase the inheritance tax (IHT) threshold to £1 million.
