ABSTRACT
Discusses the measurement of rate coefficients for the dissociative recombinations of a series of hydrocarbon ions derived from normal alkanes using the flowing afterglow Langmuir probe-mass spectrometer technique. Composition of the afterglow upon its exit from the glass tube; Indirect reaction of helium with argon in the plasma.

The rate coefficients α for the dissociative recombination (DR) of the aromatic cyclic ions C6H6+ and C10H8+ have been measured in a flowing afterglow experiment at room temperature using Xe+ and Kr+ as precursor ions. C+ was also used as a precursor ion and this allowed the DR rate...

Thermal electron attachment to SF5Cl has been studied with the flowing afterglow Langmuir probe technique. The rate coefficient is moderate, 4.8(±1.2)×10-8 cm3 s-1, and invariant with temperature over the temperature range of 300–550 K. The reaction is dissociative, forming mainly...
