We have carried out angle-dependent PES measurements of pure phase K[sub3]C[sub60] films prepared in UHV. The shape of the valence spectrum shows a quite strong angle-dependence which was unobserved in previous studies. We attribute this to the important role of the light polarization. We show...

The electron-phonon interaction plays a fundamental role in the superconducting and normal-state properties of all the high-Tc materials, from cuprates to fullerenes. Another common element of these compounds is in addition the extremely small Fermi energy EF, which is comparable with the range...

We report on the electronic properties of the trimetal-nitride fullerene Dy3N@C80 and its encapsulated form inside SWCNT, the metallofullerene peapod, using high-energy spectroscopic methods as probes. Photoemission spectral analysis was carried out on plasma polymerized fullerene (C60) films prepared by sublimating C60 under an argon plasma. In the photoemission analysis, the overall distribution of the shallow valence band states of the plasma-treated C60 was compared with pristine C60....

High-resolution photoemission spectroscopy was used to study Rh decorated single-walled C nanotubes before and after the exposure to NO2. We found that the metal adatoms form ordered nanocrystallites exhibiting a surface termination close to the (111) oriented crystal. After NO2 uptake at 200 K,...

We have studied the Raman spectrum and photoemission of hybrid magneto-fullerene devices. For C60 layers on cobalt, the spin polarized electron transfer shifts the photoemission energy, reducing the zero phonon contribution. The total luminescence of hybrid devices can be controlled via spin...

Abstract. We present studies of the electronic structure and the optical properties of the endohedral monometallofullerene Tm@C[sub 82] using photoemission and electron energyloss spectroscopy in transmission. Electronic structure of single-wall carbon nanotubes was investigated by photoemission spectroscopy. Oscillations in electronic density of states due to one-dimensional van Hove singularities were clearly observed near the Fermi level, which can be well reproduced by simple tight-binding...
