ABSTRACT
Examines the low-temperature heat capacity and magnetic properties of (Dy[sub 0.5]Er[sub 0.5])Al[sub 2] alloys as a function of magnetic fields. Absence of measurable magnetic hysteresis above 17 Kelvin; Comparison of the alloy magnetocaloric effect with GdPd; Determination of the 4-K transitions using magnetic susceptibility measurements.

We have investigated the magnetocaloric properties of Ni2+xMn1-xSn (x = 0, 0.05 and 0.1) Heusler alloys by using the dc-magnetization measurement technique. A reduction in the paramagnetic to ferromagnetic transition temperature (Curie temperature, TC) has been observed with a substitution of Ni...

We have studied the magnetocaloric effect (MCE) in the shape-memory Heusler alloy Ni50Mn35In15 by direct measurements in pulsed magnetic fields up to 6 and 20 T. The results in 6 T are compared with data obtained from heat-capacity experiments. We find a saturation of the inverse MCE, related to...

The effect of hydrostatic pressure on the magnetic and magnetocaloric properties of Ni2-XMn1+XGa (X = 0, 0.15) Heusler alloys around the martensitic transformation temperature (TM) has been investigated. We find that magnetic field increases and decreases the characteristic transitions...
