ABSTRACT
Discusses direct-to-consumer (DTC) drug advertising in the United States. There is a possibility of legislation to set advertising standards. Factors that influence the high cost of prescription drugs are discussed. The loosening of regulations by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration have affected broadcast advertising in some ways. There is also a perception of a lack of support for the legislation.
