ABSTRACT
Shows how a Fokker-Planck equation in the phase of a single polymer molecule in a multicomponent mixture is obtained from the Liouville equation in the phase space of a mixture of polymeric fluids. Generalization of the Schieber-Ottinger equation for a dilute solution of a single polymer species.

We study the well-posedness of a multi-scale model of polymeric fluids. The microscopic model is the kinetic theory of the finitely extensible nonlinear elastic (FENE) dumbbell model. The macroscopic model is the incompressible non-Newton fluids with polymer stress computed via the Kramers...

Free energy landscapes for polymer chain translocating through an interacting pore are calculated by using exact enumeration method. A potential barrier exists at weak attractive or repulsive polymer-pore interaction and it changes to a potential well with the increase in the attraction. The...

Brownian dynamics (BD) simulations are used to study the translocation dynamics of a coarsegrained polymer through a cylindrical nanopore. We consider the case of short polymers, with a polymer length, N, in the range N = 21–61. The rate of translocation is controlled by a tunable...

In this paper, we establish new a priori estimates for the coupled 2D Navier-Stokes equations and Fokker-Planck equation. As its applications, we prove the global existence of smooth solutions for the coupled 2D micro-macro models for polymeric fluids in the bounded domain.

We study the long-time behaviour of a nonlinear Fokker-Planck equation, which models the evolution of rigid polymers in a given flow, after a closure approximation. The aim of this work is twofold: first, we propose a microscopic derivation of the classical Doi closure, at the level of the...

On the base of the theory of stochastic differential equations the stochastic diffusion models of polymer macromolecules destruction kinetics were "constructed". Polymer translocation into adsorbing nanopores is studied by using the Fokker-Planck equation of chain diffusion along the energy landscape calculated with Monte Carlo simulations using the incremental gauge cell method. We consider single particle and polymer translocation where the frictional properties experienced from the environment are changing in time. This work is motivated by the interesting frequency responsive behaviour observed when a polymer is passing through a pore with an oscillating width. In...

The translocation of polymer through a channel with a gradient interaction between the polymer and the channel is studied. The interaction is expressed by E = E0 + kx, where E0 is the initial potential energy at the entrance, x is the position of the monomer inside the channel, and k is the...
