Uranium atoms from the Nd:YAG laser ablation of a uranium target were codeposited with molecular oxygen and excess argon at 12 K. Infrared spectra of N2O trimers are studied using a tunable diode laser to probe a pulsed supersonic slit-jet expansion. A previous observation by Miller and Pedersen [J. Chem. Phys. 108, 436 (1998)] in the N2O ν1+ν3 combination band region (∼3480 cm-1) showed the trimer structure to...

The infrared spectrum of the ammonia water complex has been recorded from 10 to 4000 cm-1 for complexes trapped in neon and krypton matrices. Spectra have been observed for NH3 or ND3 complexed with H2O, HDO, or D2O. The observed intramolecular fundamentals are compared with frequencies...

New time and energy resolved spectra of the L’ 2[uppercase_phi_synonym]–X 2Π (0,v″) bands of NO in Ar and Kr matrices are reported. The L’(0,v″) bands are excited exclusively via the B’ 2Δ valence state and their lifetime is 3000±500 ns in both...

The Fourier transform infrared spectra in the range 4000–200 cm-1 of pyrimidine nucleoside 2′-deoxyuridine (dU) are obtained in low-temperature inert Kr matrices. For the first time, instead of a usual flat mirror, a low-temperature, one-coordinate retroreflector is used as the...

The S2 emission in the red and near-infrared regions has been reinvestigated using the laser-induced emission technique. Four progressions of S2 in solid Ar were observed in the emission spectra following excitation in the UV region with a pulsed Nd-YAG laser system. 34S-isotopic shifts allowed...
