ABSTRACT
The article discusses organizational capability as an element for creating competitive advantage. Organizational capability is based on the premise that most organizations do not think, make decisions, or allocate resources, rather people do. Organizational strategies or programs emphasizing strategic, technological, or financial goals are implemented through people. The Marriott Corp. is cited as a successful utilizer of organizational capability. The corporation focused its success on becoming the provider of choice, or the preferred provider in the hotel industry.
