ABSTRACT
Examines the origin of the 5.16 eV absorption band in silica and germanium-doped silica using electron spin resonance measurements. Increase in the absorption coefficient; Changes in the photoinduced hydrogen-associated paramagnetic defects; Connection of the band to oxygen deficiency center of the divacancy type.
