ABSTRACT
Reports on calculations of the interaction of helium with the B (supra 3)II[sub 0u] state of Cl[sub 2] as a function of the Cl[sub 2] internuclear separation. The potential energy surface of the ground state He+Cl2(1Σg) is calculated by using the perturbation theory of intermolecular forces and supermolecular Mo\ller–Plesset perturbation theory approach. The potential energy surface of the first excited triplet He+Cl2(3Πu) was evaluated...

The partitioning of interaction energy between a closed-shell and an open-shell system is proposed. This allows us to describe the unrestricted Mo\ller–Plesset interaction energy as a sum of fundamental contributions: electrostatic, exchange, induction and dispersion. The supermolecular...

An empirical interaction surface for the He–Cl[sub 2](B [sup 3]Π[sub u]) complex based on additive pairwise potentials is reported. A novelty of the present surface with respect to previous empirical potentials is that a dependence on the Cl–Cl separation is introduced in some...
