ABSTRACT
Reports on the direct observation of the products, kinetics and transitional energy release from the photodissociation of the allyl radical upon excitation in the near-ultraviolet. Allene formation being the dominant hydrogen-loss reaction channel; Appearance of hydrocarbon radicals as chemical intermediates in many reactive environments.
