ABSTRACT
Presents a total site selective spectroscopy technique to optically identify spectroscopic sites in erbium:LiNbO[sub 3]. Number of sites observed; Classification of the sites; Polarization of Er[sup 3+] absorption cross sections; Degeneration of the manifolded lines from sites; Consistency of the observed simultaneous lasing of two wavelength.
