Examines the role of copper (Cu) and niobium in the formation of nanocrystals from Fe[sub 73.5]Nb[sub 3]Cu[sub 1]Si[sub 13.5]B[sub 9] magnetic alloy. Formation of fcc Cu precipitates during heat treatment; Action of Cu clusters in the nucleation of iron-rich nanocrystals; Refinement of the microstructure in crystallized ribbons.
