ABSTRACT
The article offers news briefs related to the chemical industry. Huntsman Polyurethanes Shanghai Ltd. (HPS) has started an environmental assessment for adding a second methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) plant at its existing site in Caojing, Shanghai. BASF AG may re-assess the timing of its planned 400-kilo-tonnes-per-annum (kpta) MDI unit in Chongqing, China. Bayer MaterialScience Inc. has shut down its 160-kilo-tonnes-per-annum (ktpa) MDI plant in Brunsbiittel, Germany on April 1, 2009.
