Develops an infrared modulator for observation of optically induced intersubband absorption in biased double quantum wells. Separation of photogenerated electron and hole wavefunction by the electric field; Enhancement of modulation efficiency and recombination time; Occurrence of photoinduced intersubband transition in infrared polarization.
