ABSTRACT
The article reports on the plans of Genworth Financial Inc. to grow its life insurance business in the U.S. It aims to target an untapped group of people it called the Main Street market. Small business owners, college graduates employed in white collar jobs or people employed in blue collar jobs are included in the segment. According to Chris Grady, president of insurance distribution and marketing, 65% of the people within that income bracket do not own an individual life insurance policy.
