Evaluates single crystal p-toluene sulfonate (PTS) potentiality for all- optical applications at 1.32 micrometer communications wavelength. Measurement of electronic and thermo-optic nonlinearities; Growth of PTS in an integrated waveguide format with low losses in the near infrared; Discussion on PTS in other telecommunication windows at 1.3 micrometer.
