ABSTRACT
Examines an approach for producing diamond thin films. Observation of the laser processing of carbon-implanted copper, nickel and carbon crystals; Identification of the presence of substrate material in the carbon films; Use of Raman scattering, Auger spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy; Detection of amorphous carbon and microcrystalline graphite in the films.
