Examines the atomic structure of the twin boundary in NiSi[sub 2] thin films. Use of high resolution transmission electron microscopy; Discovery of the bonding between silicon atoms in type A and type B NiSi[sub 2]; Coordination of the nickel atoms of both crystals; Factor affecting the absence of elastic strain or misfit dislocations in the twin boundary.
