Examines the third-order optical nonlinearity of conjugated polymers. Synthesis of conjugated polymers by ring-forming metathesis polymerization of 4,4-disubstituted-1,6-heptadiynes; Solubility of polymers in common organic solvents; Dependence of optical density on the molar volume of the substituents.
