Severstal Extends Idling of Some Operations

The article reports on the measures undertaken by Severstat International Inc. on the curtailment of its North American steel production in the U.S. The move is due to the effect of the deteriorating economic condition and decline in customer orders. As part of the plan, the cold-rolling and coating operations will be temporarily be idled while its steel galvanizing operation will temporarily be stopped.
