We have measured χ(3) for a series of solid-state samples of polyphenylene oligomers, (Ph)n, where n=4–8 is the number of phenyl ring units, using optical pulses of 140 fs duration and 650 nm wavelength. A degenerate four-wave mixing (DFWM) signal was only observable for n≥6,...

The long standing problem of the inability of many semiempirical models to correctly predict the polarization of the higher dipole allowed optical transitions of phenyl based π-conjugated polymers and molecules is examined and related to the issue of internal and external screening of...

Starting from d, l-lactic acid ( d, l-LA), ethylene glycol (EG) and phenyl dichlorophosphate (PDP), poly(lactic acid)-poly(phenyl phosphate) was synthesized via direct copolycondensation. A series of imidazopyrimidine derivatives with the general formula I was synthesized and identified as potent inhibitors of iNOS dimer formation, a prerequisite for proper functioning of the enzyme. Stille and Negishi coupling reactions were used as key steps to form the carbon-carbon bond...

QSPR-modeling of melting temperatures has been performed for oligophenylenes of diverse structures and different molecular weights. It has been shown that optimization of correlation weights of graph local invariants can be used for prediction of melting points of oligomers. The best statistical...

series of thiophene-based oligomers has been designed to explore their optical, electronic, and charge transport properties for charge transport materials. These oligomers consist of oligothiophene, oligo(thienylenevinylene), and m- or p-phenyl as the core in two shapes (linear shape and...
