Examines a plasma-filled X-band backward wave oscillators. Magnitude of microwave frequency upshifts; Dependence of frequency upshifts on the background gas pressure; Factor attributing to the increase of microwave emission bandwidth; Comparison between the radio frequency power enhancement of high and low beam current cases.
