ABSTRACT
Examines the fabrication of silicon germanide/silicon quantum wire (QWR) structures on a V-groove patterned substrate by gas-source silicon molecular beam epitaxy. Existence of quantized states associated with QWR; Temperature dependence of the epitaxial growth rate; Formation of a crescent-shaped silicon germanide layer.
