When MoSi2 films on silicon are exposed to oxidizing ambients, a continuous layer of SiO2 grows on the silicide surface. However, when the presence of oxygen impurities exceeds 2 at. % at the silicon-MoSi2 interface, metal-rich silicide phases form. The coexistence of these phases and the...

Studies were conducted on the kinetics and mechanism of oxidation of chromium-manganese steel under partial oxygen pressure p O2 from 10-11 to 10-2 Pa at a temperature of 1173 K. The low oxygen partial pressure was produced in a gas mixture of CO-CO2 and helium containing 0.2 ppm of oxygen. The...

In an abrasive chemical mechanical polishing (CMP) process, materials were considered to be removed by abrasive sliding and rolling. Abrasive sliding has been investigated by many molecular dynamics (MD) studies; while abrasive rolling was usually considered to be negligible and therefore was...

Oxidation of oily sludge in supercritical water was studied in batch reactor under the conditions of reaction temperature from 390 to 450°C, pressure up to 25 MPa, and time from 1 to 10 min. The oily sludge oxidation undergoes a parallel-consecutive reaction pathways, in which it first...
