ABSTRACT
This article offers tips for teenage girls on handling criticisms about their body weight or size. Julie Parker of the Butterfly Foundation says parental pressure can be damaging to a girl's body confidence. There is a need for girls to have an open discussion with their parents about their attitude and explain that their pressure can be hurtful and destructive. Friends' action can also affect the body confidence of girls. Included is a list of fun activities that girls can do with their friends and family and distract them from their body concerns.
